Did you know that confidence is an inside job? I have 8 confidence building tips for you because contrary to popular belief your confidence has nothing to do with your body shape. How many times have you looked at old pictures when you knew you felt self conscious at that time yet your body looked amazing?

Some people are just born with self confidence, but for the rest of us self confidence takes a little practice, but it is totally attainable no matter your body weight or size.

Just like something as little as a small stain on your shirt can make you feel self conscious, small daily acts can actually help to build confidence.

Here are my 8 tips for building self confidence.

You know the days when you are just struggling to feel like yourself? These are the days to pull out that favorite outfit that you feel so good in.

The one that always gets compliments. It fits right, it makes your eyes pop, or you just love it so much. It doesn’t matter what it is that makes it your favorite outfit, what matters is that you feel good in it.

Did you ever see the movie Legally Blonde when Elle cracks the murder case wide open when she delivers the line, “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. And Happy people don’t shoot their husbands. They just don’t.”

Well it’s true! Endorphins are a feel good chemical in our body, and when we feel good, we feel more confident.

This doesn’t mean that you need to go out and run a marathon, or break any weightlifting records. It simply means that you find a way to move your body that makes you feel good.

Pick up the phone and call or text a loved one. Connecting with people that you know love you and hearing their voice is so comforting.

When we are comfortable we are naturally more self confident.

Music has a powerful effect on our mental well being. Songs that are upbeat and have positive messages can boost your mood instantly and help you to feel more confident.

Sometimes we get stuck in our own heads and can’t seem to feel good about ourselves no matter what we do. The cure for me has always been to go out and find someone who needs help.

It helps to put our own lives in perspective. It helps us to have gratitude for what we have been given. And having gratitude helps us to build confidence.

So what can you do for someone today? It really can be as simple as putting a smile on someone’s face. When you give kindness, you get it in return.

What do you want to learn about? Reading can help you to escape the negative feelings that you may be feeling about yourself. Always finding ways to learn can keep you at the top of your game.

In turn as you read you are learning something new. Not only is knowledge power, knowledge is also confidence.

I know this may sound silly but remember when I said earlier that something as simple as making someone else smile can help to build your own confidence?

Well the easiest way to make someone smile is to smile at them first!

If you know that your mouth is fresh and clean then you are more likely to smile at strangers you pass in the store or street. And boom confidence boosted.

If you are wearing clothes that you have to constantly adjust, pull or tug, and shift around then your focus is going to be on your body.

This is distracting and can lead to feeling self conscious in our own skin.

My suggestion is to throw out those clothes that keep you focused on your body. You know the ones.

Wear clothes that you feel good in. That fit good, maybe have some stretch, and don’t make you think about having them on all day.

Not having those clothes in your closet that make you feel self conscious in can be freeing and make it easier to get dressed in the morning.
