Are you ready to ditch the diet and live your life on your own terms?

Or maybe you don’t identify as a dieter. I get it. I didn’t either because I had always equated diets with Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, and Nutri-system.

But after my health crashed hard I was forced to do some introspection and research. I found that in my pursuit of health and wellness my behaviors had become very disordered and my relationship with food had taken a deep nose dive.

In my mind, I wasn’t dieting in the traditional sense. As I looked back I realized that’s exactly what I had been doing though.

I was creating as big of a caloric deficit as I could through macro counting and exercising 2-3 hours a day, 6-7 days a week. I ignored my hunger signals and pushed through the pain when my body had nagging little injuries.

This is when I learned the term, diet culture, and what it meant and all it encompassed. I learned that diets can be disguised as wellness and the pursuit of health.

I had told myself I was doing all of the things in pursuit of health, but when I got to the heart of it and was truly honest with myself, it was ultimately for weight loss and shrinking my body.

Even though I wasn’t actively “on a diet” so I thought, my behaviors were steeped in diet culture beliefs.

Once I came to terms with that I realized just how much my food choices (diet mentality) were influenced by diet culture over my whole teen and adult life. I realized how my relationship with food had been shaped by diet culture. I knew it was time to ditch the diet mentality.

I began studying diet culture and what it was and where it showed up in my life and I was shocked.

Here are some examples of diet culture in case you are now where I was a few years ago.

  1. Obsessively tracking and controlling food intake on My Fitness Pal for the purpose of controlling your body.
  2. Obsessively making sure you get over 10,000 steps each day no matter how tired you are because you heard that it will help you to lose weight and that’s the ticket to happiness.
  3. Removing entire food groups in the name of health and wellness.
  4. Labeling foods as good or bad and internalizing the message that you are good or bad depending on what you do or don’t eat.

Basically, diet culture focuses on and values weight, shape, and size over health and well being. Reinforcing that a thin person doesn’t need to take care of their health because they are already thin.

Diet culture wants you to believe that all of your dreams will come true and you will be so happy when you lose the weight. I can tell you from countless fitness models and competitors at their leanest confiding in me, that this is not true!

So if you’ve been duped by diet culture, or thought your relationship with food didn’t have anything to do with dieting because you’ve never gone on a formal diet, or you see the effect that diet culture has had on you and you are ready to set yourself free from that way of thinking….

OR you are you ready to live without food rules, without punishment, without counting, without black or white thinking around food….

Then this Ditch the Diet Mentality group is for you..

This is a great place to start.

Learning how to tune out the noise from diet culture helps you to reconnect to your instinct and get you back in touch with your body’s own signals.

Somewhere along the way we learned to trust dieting over our own body’s needs.

With this course you will learn how to tap back into your own body and regain the trust.

This isn’t about giving up on health.

It’s about reclaiming what healthy looks like and feels like for you.

Are you ready?
